YOGA NIDRA: Gentle Stretching & Guided Relaxation
CANCELED

Experience Full-Body Relaxation. Feel Peaceful & Refreshed! As the pace of modern life seems to increase exponentially, the timeless practice of Yoga Nidra has come to the foreground as an effective tool for living with greater health and ease in the modern age. Yoga Nidra literally means “yogic sleep.” Studies have shown that although the mind remains conscious during the practice, the levels of relaxation and healing achievable during Yoga Nidra are deeper even than regular sleep. If you suffer from hypertension, stress, diabetes, migraine, asthma, ulcers, digestive disorders, skin diseases, depression or insomnia, the practice of Yoga Nidra can benefit you! *Decrease stress *Improve digestion *Ease muscular, emotional & mental tension This workshop will begin with gentle yoga practice to warm and relax the body. Then you’ll lie back on your mat to be guided systematically through increasingly deep levels of physical relaxation. As all tension leaves the body, the subconscious layers of the mind also begin to open. The techniques employed during Yoga Nidra such as visualization and sensory awareness enable you to bypass the conscious mind and enter a pre-dream state, which is the birthplace of your own creativity. It is in the subconscious is where real and lasting changes begin! Absolutely NO yoga or meditation experience needed. Wear comfortable clothing for gentle movements to prepare for this guided experience. Note: The more Yoga Nidra you do, the greater the benefits. Also consider joining our regular Sunday night Yoga Nidra class with Larkin, 7:00-8:15P.

Introduction to FIVE ELEMENT YOGA: Come Into Balance with Jennifer Reis

Realign yourself with the rhythms of nature as you renew your vital energy and uncover your natural radiance. Five Element Yoga is a potent practice of yoga postures, breathing, mudras, and deep healing rest with Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra. Drawing from the traditions of Kripalu Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda, this workshop invites you to dive deeply into your five elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether. Five Element Yoga® nourishes and stimulates each of your elements, bringing you into harmony and balancing yourself with the larger forces of nature. In this workshop you will:  Nourish your whole being with joyous movement and deep relaxation  Transform tightness into flowing energy  Develop the elemental qualities of grounding, fluidity, transformation, compassion and freedom  Increase self-knowledge at an elemental level  Refresh your practice and take home powerful new tools for balance and connection with your true self. The model of the five elements corresponds directly to the major yogic models such as the five koshas, five kleshas, five vayus, three doshas, and the seven chakras. By diving into each element with its parallel kosha, vayu, dosha and chakra, we are able to unlock the door to deeper inquiry and exploration of our true Self. Earth, water, fire, air and ether are the archetypal building blocks of our bodies, our energy, and everything in existence. Register today to experience a practice that helps you feel both stable and energized. Come into perfect flow with life so that you may enjoy increased health, happiness, peace and potential.

Mindfulness Meditation Half-Day 'MINI-RETREAT from STRESS'

Understanding how to cultivate and sustain appropriate attention, both on and off the meditation cushion, is essential in recognizing not only the origins of stress in our busy and demanding lives, but also skillful ways to reduce that stress. However, many of us here in the West come to the cushion with great expectations and quickly discover that we first need to remember how to relax. Scientists have proven that meditation not only reduces stress. It also helps you in these ways: Strengthen the immune system. Increase heart health. Reduce high blood pressure. Slow biological aging. Strengthen coping skills. Sleep better. Better manage pain. Heal more quickly. Help you create positive behavior changes. Achieve a greater sense of overall well-being. This workshop is open to all—from beginners to long-time meditators—and is an opportunity for you to extend your practice over a few hours. The theme will be “Connecting the Moments.” That is, intentionally cultivating and sustaining a focused attention on sensations in the body as we mindfully transition from one posture to another; sitting/kneeling; standing; walking; reclining and gentle stretching. This four-hour workshop is crafted to be deeply relaxing, not to push our limits in one posture or another. Please join us in this 27th “Mini-Retreat” at Dream Yoga Studio. Come to share meditation practice and get your questions answered. Explore new mindfulness techniques that will help you experience greater calm and healing. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Chairs, cushions, blankets, kneeling benches and props are available, but feel free to bring your personal sitting cushion. Past participants are amazed at how peaceful they feel after this Retreat…

Yoga for Chronic Pain

Join Yoga Teacher Trainer and Therapist Jacci Reynolds for a short lecture and experience of movement, breath and meditation beneficial to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, headaches, osteoarthrities, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis and Parkinsons. This workshop is based on the Tantra Hatha Yoga philosophy and practices to understand chronic pain and suffering. We will work on understanding ourselves and our conditions better from a new perspective to create a new relationship with our bodies and minds. We will discuss and practice creating nonjudgmental, compassionate acceptance of our thoughts, emotions and physical sensations as they occur during practice by cultivating the witness without getting caught up in our "story." Current findings in the field of pain science are showing how we can change our relationship with our body through the relationship with our mind and nervous system. In this therapeutic workshop, we’ll explore a practice to create nervous system balance, resilience and an increased tolerance to sensation. Jacci regularly sees clients for yoga therapy who experience some form of day-to-day pain and has found a number of techniques help her clients to manage what they are experiencing. She looks forward to sharing this information with Dream Yoga teachers and students. Yoga Teachers receive 2 hours of CEUs with the Yoga Alliance

In less than 20 minutes a day, the Tibetans will strengthen, energize and balance you, and help you feel healthier, more alive!
