Caroline Hesse

She began practicing Bikram Yoga in hopes of healing her back. She completed the demanding 500 hour BikramYoga teacher training in 2001 with a new path and renewed spine. After several years of teaching Bikram, Caroline was introduced to Kripalu Yoga by Yogiraj Amrit Desai, the founder of Kripalu Center and disciple of Swami Kripalu. She knew that she had truly found her “yoga home” in the Kripalu style, with its unique blending of asana, pranayama and meditation. In 2006, Caroline took a teaching sabbatical for several years to stay home and raise her daughter. In October 2011 she completed her 200-hour training with the Pranakriya School of Healing Arts founded by Yoganand Michael Carroll, the current director of the Kripalu School of Yoga. In August 2012, after many years of a personal Yoga Nidra (a powerful form of guided meditation) practice, Caroline completed her Level I Yoga Nidra Teacher Training with Ladan Judge at East Meets West Yoga. She has been teaching both yoga and Yoga Nidra in the DC area since graduating in 2011. Caroline believes yoga is a deeply personal and unique practice for each of us. She is devoted to the lifelong practice of yoga, and to creating a nurturing and safe space for her students’ experience on the mat. Catha Pavloff

She also teaches meditation, and brings yoga and meditation to corporate settings through Dream's Corporate Yoga program. Catha began practicing yoga in 2003 and has taught since 2011. She left her 23-year corporate life behind to focus full time on her love for helping others through yoga. Catha believes in the importance of yoga in healthy aging physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yoga has calmed, healed and rejuvenated her throughout lifes ups and downs. Crystal specializes in prenatal, post-partum, and infant massage at Dream Yoga, and is a trained Infant Massage USA instructor. Her goal is to provide nurturing mind and body care to women before, during and after their pregnancy. Jon Waterman
Jon Waterman has been studying and teaching various mind-body awareness practices since the late 60s, including hatha yoga, Zen meditation and karate. He was a senior instructor/tournament director for the South East Karate Association, and served as president of the Atlanta Martial Arts Association. Over the years, Jon has studied meditation techniques with both eastern & western teachers. He began to intensify his mindfulness meditation training in 1996, and has since attended over 100 retreats and workshops, with the majority of this practice in 7- to 28-day silent residential retreats. He is a founding board member of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, and has been a member of the IMCW Teachers Council since it's inception in 1997. He also co-founded Mind-Body Health Association--dedicated to bringing applied mindfulness programs into the community & workplace. Lisa Danahy (E-RYT 200, RCFY 200, YACEP) is a master yoga instructor and professional trainer with particular expertise in yoga for special populations, including children, families, seniors, and those challenged by developmental differences, illness and injury. As a Radiant Child Yoga (RCY) Facilitator, Mentor and 200-Hour Instructor, Lisa conducts childrens yoga trainings around the country, including co-teaching workshops and co-authoring publications with RCY founder Shakta Khalsa. She has over 20 years of experience as a former school administrator, educator, certified trainer and yoga instructor. Luann (MA, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, 500 KYT & IYT) is founder and director of Dream Yoga Studio & Wellness Center. She's certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists, as a Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher, and is recognized as a 500-Hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with the National Yoga Alliance. She has also completed her 500-Level Certification as a Professional Yoga Therapist in Joseph LePage's Integrative Yoga Therapy program. Luann started the for-credit yoga program at George Mason University in 2003. Mark Bell
Certifications: CMT, NCTMB Provides: Healing Arts�Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage & Body Work, Sports Massage Therapy, Swedish Massage, Cranial-Sacral Therapy, Chakra Balancing Mark Bell has more than 30 years experience--and some 15,000 appointments--in sports and therapeutic massage. He's known for his ability to use deep tissue massage to help people recover from injuries and muscular strains and perform better in athletic competitions. Regular massage, he has found, can cut the recovery time from surgery and strenuous activities by up to 80 percent! Mark, a Dream Yogi since 2003, has been an active member of the National Capital Area Sports Massage Team (NCASMT) for 17 years. This group of sports massage therapists provides services for 100-mile races, marathons and triathlons. For 10 years, he was the men's massage therapist at the Pentagon. Mark, an 18-year member of AMTA (the American Massage Therapy Association), also brings in other healing modalities as needed to increase, balance and remove blockages from a client's energy system. Mark holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. As a former accountant, he understands the stresses and strains desk, computer and other office work puts on the body. Mary Kearns
MARY KEARNS began her yoga and meditation journey at age 11, after which time she practiced many different styles, on and off until 2004, when she began a regular practice. In 2017, she completed her yoga teacher training. Called to be a healer before then, Mary earned a PhD in Developmental Psychology, focusing on how bio-psycho-social factors influence healthy human development throughout the lifespan. She served on the board of trustees of The Montessori School in Wilton, CT, for six years and, during that time, studied the work of Maria Montessori. In addition, Mary is a Reiki Master, Certified Life Coach, and has also studied herbalism, mandalas for healing, shamanism, EFT, and feng shui. She also holds a BA in Fine Arts. Mary has a passion for helping people of all ages develop mind, body and spirit wellness, and she does this through workshops, as well as yoga classes designed to nourish all aspects of the individual Find Classes taught by Mary Kearns.
Master Jeff Cook
Master Cook is a four-decade long practitioner of Chinese Martial Arts. He was greatly privileged to have studied under several of the highest ranking Chinese Martial Arts Masters to have taught in the United States. These included a Mainland China All China Champion, a Taiwan Champion, and a Director of the World Kung Fu Federation. He is himself a lineage holding Master of one of the several Kung Fu systems in which he has achieved Master level rank during his decades of study. He is extremely well-versed in the real, ancient Wei Chi, Nei Chi, and Qi Gong exercises handed down from Master to student, in some cases for near 2,700 years. He is highly educated in various forms of meditation and holds a Master level degree in Herbal Medicine. Master Cook is an expert practitioner and instructor of Nei Chi, Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong. Michael Peterson
Certifications: Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher, 500-RYT, 200-RYT Provides: Yoga Instruction & Private Sessions In New York City, Michael was dragged into his first yoga class against his will; but after one class, he realized he had found a home. It was the first time he had experienced quiet in the midst of the spinning, hectic, city environment. Michael is a Professional Level 500-hour Kripalu Yoga teacher. He received his 200-hour certification from Yoga to the People in New York City. Previously, he studied dance, the Alexander Technique, and acting at Boston University and is certified in Reiki Level 1. Michael believes that, since no two of us are exactly the same, each of us has a personal way of practicing yoga. His classes are an opportunity to discover what serves you so that you can make choices to create a suitable lifestyle for you. Molly Yasi

She began her practice at a local studio in her hometown, Swampscott, MA, and has continued ever since. She began teaching to children with Autism in a therapeutic school in 2014. When she took a job as a counselor at a child and adolescent psychiatric unit, she began teaching yoga, self-regulation and Yoga Nidra to patients. MOLLY is passionate about helping people find relief and strength within their mental health challenges. She loves teaching and creating safe spaces for students to feel free enough to be themselves. She is completing her masters in social work; and is currently an intern in Alexandria, providing counseling, case management, and teaching Chair Yoga to older adults. Molly has taken courses in mindfulness and spirituality. This past summer she lived at Kripalu for a month while completing her 200-Hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training. MOLLY, who teaches Vinyasa Flow for Beginners at Dream, is inspired by the playful and strengthening nature of Vinyasa. She finds Vinyasa to have the ability to calm the mind with its repetition and flow. She believes with the strengthening aspects of Vinyasa, the body begins to feel safe enough to open. Molly sees yoga as a practice primarily in self-discovery. Private instruction for beginning or returning yoga students. NANCY began her yoga journey in search of a physical adjunct to her meditation practice. The use of the breath and the attentiveness to the present moment while practicing brought increased depth to her meditation practice and provided a welcome respite from an all too busy life working on the Hill and tending to the needs of her family. She completed her teacher training with Frances Stahnke at Sacred Well Yoga Studio in 2009, and has been a regular student at Dream Yoga. A life-time learner, she has also studied with Erich Schiffmann, Kripalus Rudy Peirce (completing her Gentle Dynamic Yoga certification), Baxter Bell, M.D., and Amy Weintraub. From these master teachers and others, she learned the importance of alignment, of breath, of listening to ones body, accepting it and being grateful for all it can do, whether or not handstand is ever achieved. Susan Maneechai
Susan Maneechai is a 200 Hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher)with the national Yoga Alliance. She provides: Group yoga instruction for teens and adults, including seniors. Private instruction for beginning or returning yoga students. ** Susan began her yoga journey in 2004 after encountering a studio owner while walking her dog. After 12 years in a hot yoga room, Susan decided to explore other styles (and temperatures) of yoga, which ultimately led her to becoming a yoga teacher. Her goal is to make yoga accessible to all people to reduce stress and anxiety, and provide the means to better connect with the body. *** Teaching has always been incorporated in Susans life. After graduating with a B.S. in Family Studies, Susan worked as a community mental health counselor assisting clients in learning basic life skills. She then switched to the animal welfare field, first caring for animals before teaching humane education to D.C. school children. Using this blended approach, Tana has successfully helped people with a variety of physical health issues including migraine headaches, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, digestive problems and diabetes. She also consults on staying well through integrating one’s meditative, eating, and day-to-day routine. Background: Tana began studying Kundalini yoga in Manhattan in 1993, while she was managing international operations for a world-wide law firm. After one too many late nights at the office, she caught herself sprinting to catch a cab… so she could get to a yoga class to relax! At this point, she realized there had to be a better, happier, more truthful way to live. This led Tana to move to New Mexico where she was fortunate enough to study for two years with Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute. Her total immersion into learning and living an Ayurvedic lifestyle was a happy metamorphosis. Once Tana finished her course of studies with Dr. Lad, she went on to get a degree in Food Science at City University in New York and became a Registered Dietitian. In her private practice in New York, she treated patients from all walks of life from investment bankers to policewomen, seeing clients in doctor’s offices, training facilities and yoga centers. Tana’s ability to communicate easily and connect with people led to Discovery Health asking her to co-host a four-part TV series on nutrition (including alternative modalities) and fitness, which aired in 2004. Tana believes that Ayurveda is a beautiful and humble approach to life. There is a poetry in recognizing oneself as a unique microcosm of the bigger natural world that we live in. Taylor Sherman, Dream Yogas resident Hypnotist/Life Coach, has been practicing hypnosis professionally for over a decade, and has been a rising star in the hypnosis community for some time. He holds certified status in several national organizations, with specialty certifications in Sports Hypnosis and in Regression Hypnotherapy. He has been an invited presenter to the National Institutes of Health, and he is on the faculty at the National Guild of Hypnotist's annual convention. As a Certified Hypnosis Instructor and Certified Instructor of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, he has trained and certified many of the practicing hypnotists in the Washington DC area.
