After one too many late nights at the office, she caught herself sprinting to catch a cab… so she could get to a yoga class to relax! At this point, she realized there had to be a better, happier, more truthful way to live. This led Tana to move to New Mexico where she was fortunate enough to study for two years with Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute. Her total immersion into learning and living an Ayurvedic lifestyle was a happy metamorphosis. Once Tana finished her course of studies with Dr. Lad, she went on to get a degree in Food Science at City University in New York and became a Registered Dietitian. In her private practice in New York, she treated patients from all walks of life from investment bankers to policewomen, seeing clients in doctor’s offices, training facilities and yoga centers. Tana’s ability to communicate easily and connect with people led to Discovery Health asking her to co-host a four-part TV series on nutrition (including alternative modalities) and fitness, which aired in 2004. Tana believes that Ayurveda is a beautiful and humble approach to life. There is a poetry in recognizing oneself as a unique microcosm of the bigger natural world that we live in. Using her knowledge of Ayurveda combined with her life experience, Kundalini meditation and knowledge of nutrition, Tana focuses on helping people find health and happiness through discovery of their own uniqueness, or Prakruti.
