Getting to the Core of It with Catherine Marquette
The definition of core includes "the part of something that is central to its existence”. This could be realized via a physical practice, such as Yoga asana, as we experience how the core lends support in standing poses, opens up in backbends, comes together in balancing postures. This could also be realized via a more mental practice, such as the Yoga yamas and niyamas, or ethical restraints and observances. Together, these tenants of yoga help to direct our awareness to our center and enable us to act from our core.
