Yoga is a beautiful physical practice; it is also a deeply spiritual practice with teachings that promote whole health and wellbeing. In this mini session you can expect to learn about:
The Eight Limbs of Yoga, including Yamas, Niyamas, Asanas, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi;
The Chakras, or subtle energy wheels in your body.
Your energetic bodies known as the Kosas.
The Kleshas or "obstacles" to connecting to your True Nature and the Gunas or qualities or modes of nature.
Two ancient yogic texts, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali & the Bhagavad Gita and their significance in yoga.
Yoga's sister science, Ayurveda, also known as the Science of Life.
We will also explore some yoga poses and how they got their fun Sanskrit names.
Four - 75 minute sessions will include a brief meditation and discussion. PowerPoint presentation and handouts will be provided.
